Our Shipper Symposium provides the setting to share and discuss best practices for navigating the latest supply chain trends and challenges,” said Transplace President and Chief Commercial Officer George Abernathy. This year’s featured speakers are:

“Transplace’s Shipper Symposium brings together a diverse group of shippers, industry experts, analysts, practitioners and academics to address key issues impacting the supply chain and the economy,” said Wilson. “I look forward to speaking to an audience made up of such respected leaders in the North American logistics community, and discussing the impact of NAFTA on the supply chain and what it means for the future of the transportation industry.”
Keynote speaker Vicente Fox served as President of Mexico from 2000 to 2006 – winning a historic election that ended 71 years of consecutive rule by the Institutional Revolutionary Party. While president, Mr. Fox worked to improve the country’s economy, trade relations with the U.S., and decrease civil unrest and government corruption. At the Transplace Shipper Symposium, President Fox will address NAFTA, cross-border initiatives, and infrastructure changes and improvements within Mexico.
Todd Buchholz was managing director of the $15 billion Tiger hedge fund, a Harvard economics teacher and served as White House director of economic policy. He has written best-selling books on economics and the financial markets as well as articles for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Forbes. Mr. Buchholz’s expertise spans global politics and financial markets, and he will share with attendees insights on the challenges and opportunities facing today’s economy.
Christopher Wilson is an associate at the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, leading research and programming on regional economic integration and U.S.-Mexico border affairs. He has worked for the U.S. military, utilizing his vast knowledge of U.S.-Mexico relations and foreign policy. He will share his expertise on NAFTA and its impact on Mexico and the U.S.
“It is important to host events like the Shipper Symposium and bring in knowledgeable, experienced speakers such as former President Fox, Mr. Buchholz and Mr. Wilson to share insights and education, and empower our customers and attendees to make informed, strategic decisions that improve their supply chain operations and meet their overall business goals,” added Abernathy.
